Basic investigations into the interaction of metals (Ag, Ti) with wood surfaces

Project leader: Prof. Dr. W. Maus-Friedrichs

Funding period: 10/2010 - 10/2013

The investigation of the interactions of metals with organic materials is of fundamental interest. The influence of the organic components terminating the surfaces on the type of adsorption (2D growth or particles) as well as on the chemical reactions between metal atoms and wood surfaces will be investigated in this project. Titanium as a representative of reactive and catalytically active metals and silver as a representative of less reactive metals will be investigated.
