The Surface Engineeringand Analysis Laboratories(SEAL) are an organizational unit of the Clausthal Center for Materials Engineering (CZM).
The SEAL has three tasks:

  1. The operation of the scientific and technical equipment at CZM in the fields of surface analysis, modification and functionalization;
  2. the central and uniform presentation of these and other devices available at Clausthal University of Technology in these areas;
  3. supporting the equipment operators in the institutes with acquisition, equipment maintenance and billing.

All measures under points 2. and 3. are coordinated with the respective scientific director for each device.
